3 Days Course

For electrical engineers and installers who have their Part P or 17th Edition wiring regulation certificate. The Solar Photovoltaics or Solar PV course introduces common UK Photo Voltaic systems and covers the following topics:

• Circuit design
• Solar PV rigs
• Solar thermal rigs
• Air to water heat pumps
• System design and integration
• Ground Source heat pump rigs
• Full working roof
• Servicing and fault finding
• Under-floor heating area
• Heat recovery and ventilation systems
• Grey-water harvesting
• Rainwater harvesting

The Solar PV course is not intended to cover roof access work in great detail and installation will require electrical connections on the roof, solar installers should be comfortable working at heights! The course does include legislative requirements and risk assessments for working at roof height. Where accessible, it's always recommended for use experienced roofers / scaffolders to install rigging.
